Bunnings shoppers are raving about a ‘genius’ $11.59 item that is ‘perfect’ for eliminating flies over the summer.
Keeley Starling from Perth started setting up Envirosafe fly traps in the backyard after noticing her outdoor space was overrun by pesky insects.
After leaving the traps outside for just three days, she was stunned to discover that the non-toxic bait had captured dozens of flies in the bottle.
“I’m about to show you something really disgusting, but hear me out because you’re going to need it this summer with the amount of flies we’re getting,” Keeley said in a speech. video.
“At least at my house, I don’t know why, but there are so many flies everywhere… I don’t know why, but it feels like they’ve doubled this year.”
In an attempt to get rid of the flies, the nurse decided to give the traps a try after coming across them at Bunnings.
Keeley was impressed with the product and wanted to show viewers the ‘before’ and ‘after’ results – starting with the bottle half-filled with a green solution.
“So it’s just a powder and you mix it with water,” she explained.

“You should leave it in the sun for two to three weeks.”
But she was surprised to find that the bottle was almost half full of dead flies.
“I’ve had this in my backyard for three days,” she said.
‘Look how many flies there are, it actually stinks. But I’m telling you it works, so just buy one… We bought three more just because I hate flying.”
Her video has been viewed over 550,000 times and many agree that the product works wonders at repelling flies.

Many said they liked the product, but pointed out that the dead flies in the trap caused a bad odor.
“It’s so good, but it smells so bad,” said one.
‘Be careful, DO NOT drop it. My dad dropped his and it smelled so bad it took forever to get rid of the smell,” another shared.
“We pour it into a milk container and throw it in the trash. The only way to get rid of the smell, someone suggested.
Meanwhile, many warned that the trap needed to be emptied regularly.
“Clean it every two days or it will fill with maggots,” one urged.
‘We did the fly trap, but we forgot and left them for a week. Maggots were present during various parts of the life cycle. “I almost threw up,” said another.
Shoppers have given the product a five-star rating.
‘Excellent investment. Very impressed with this. I don’t have mosquito screens, so this is ideal. There haven’t been any flies in since I hung it outside a few days ago, so I’m very pleased,” one person enthused.
‘Works like a charm. But you have to clean it daily, otherwise you literally vomit the smell,” says another.
