A self-proclaimed fitness expert has explained why male Olympic gymnasts always wear tight clothing during competitions. The reason may surprise you.

French pole vault star Anthony Ammirati became a global sensation when he failed to reach his target height at the Games after hitting the bar with his manhood at the worst possible moment.

American fitness organization Kody Karma highlighted in a video how a man’s limb can be a hindrance for professional athletes.

Karma’s clip didn’t leave much to the imagination as he performed a somersault while shirtless and dressed in baggy shorts to illustrate how a man’s genitals react during an acrobatic move

The clip is a hit with his 37,000 followers on Instagram and he also posted a similar piece on TikTok.

He titled his TikTok video “this is why gymnasts wear tight clothes” and it wasn’t long before it was met with enthusiastic responses on both social media platforms – from men and women.

“I don’t understand how you guys walk around with this stuff,” someone joked on TikTok.

Another commented: ‘My jaw drops.’

The 21-year-old Ammirati quickly became a talking point in Paris, but for all the wrong reasons.

He looked set to jump 5.70 meters in the pole vault series until a sensitive body part got in his way on his third attempt.

This caused the young man to leave the event and viewers on social media went into panic.

‘Anthony Ammirati failed the bar and the commentators are already having a hard time acknowledging what happened. ‘Help, I’m dying,’ one user posted on X.

“Bad luck, but also a good flex,” another noted.

“The best way to lose… man’s ego is still there,” said a third.
