South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun, who starred in the Oscar-winning film Parasite, was found dead on Wednesday at the age of 48 in an apparent suicide.
Lee was discovered in his car in a parking lot in Seoul after his actress wife, Jeon Hye-jin, alerted police after finding a suicide note.
At the time, the Parasite actor was under investigation for using marijuana and a substance that a hostess at an upscale bar claimed was ketamine.
Lee claimed he did not knowingly use illegal drugs and passed toxicology tests.
He claimed that the hostess – known only as 'A' – tried to blackmail him and had filed a criminal case.

Who is Lee Sun-kyun's wife, Jeon Hye-jin?
Jeon Hye-jin is an award-winning actress and was born on January 1, 1976 in South Korea.
She pursued an acting career after appearing as a contestant in the 1997 Miss Korea pageant on behalf of Gyeongnam.
Jeon also studied directing at Sangmyung University, Seoul, at the same time, but never thought about a career as a performer.
However, this all changed after she met the director of Chaimu theater company, Yi Sang-woo.
After introducing her to the film world, Jeon soon landed a few small film roles in dramas such as A Killing Story in 1998.
After her pursuit of fame, Jeon devoted much of her time to the theater company and adopted the stage name Jeon Yi-da.
With the theater group she appeared in several productions, including The Sogue, There, Unification Express and Shape.
