The most beautiful showbiz couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Thursday and once again donned their iconic purple outfits.
But before Victoria and David Beckham tied the knot, the Spice Girl was already promised to someone else.
Victoria, 50, was engaged to electrician Mark Wood, who worked for her father’s electronics company as a burglar alarm fitter.
They met when they were 14 at St Mary’s High in Cheshunt and the young couple moved in together in the family’s luxurious £400,000 home in Goff’s Oak in Hertfordshire.
The almost-Mr. Posh Spice popped the question in 1994, when Victoria was just 20 years old and had auditioned for the Spice Girls.
Posh nearly married electrician Mark Wood, with whom she lived in her parents’ £400,000 Hertfordshire home until their divorce in 1996.

Although they never married, Victoria began calling herself Victoria Adams Wood, even using the name on the band’s first merchandise.
In 1996, the couple split after being together for a total of six years.
She previously said in her 2002 ITV documentary Being Victoria: ‘For some reason we got engaged. He was an alarm technician. If only he had stayed in the closet where I met him at my mother’s house.’
Mark was reportedly unhappy with the comment and subsequently sought revenge by going into great detail about their sex life in a 2004 Channel 5 documentary called Victoria Beckham’s Secrets.
He claimed that they ‘went like an express train’ and that ‘the breasts she has now are certainly not the same as they were then.’
A Channel 5 spokesman said at the time: ‘As they always say, revenge is a dish served cold.
‘Mark has never spoken publicly about his relationship with Victoria before, but he feels it is time to set the record straight.
‘Mark was quite hurt by what she said and doesn’t want to spare Victoria a blush.’

Victoria and David celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Thursday and once again donned their iconic purple outfits
She previously said in her 2002 ITV documentary Being Victoria: ‘For some reason we got engaged. He was an alarm engineer. If only he had stayed in the cupboard where I met him at my mother’s house.’
Victoria told Big Breakfast presenter Denise Van Outen the following about her split: ‘He wasn’t the right person for me, I wasn’t enjoying it, so it had to end.’
She also joked that she never gave him the ring back, adding: “I didn’t give him the ring back either! I still have it, because it was a horrible ring. Isn’t that horrible? It makes me sound really unrealistic.”
While Victoria fell in love with David, Mark was said to be sad about the split.
Before her comments on Being Victoria, he had only nice things to say about the singer, as he told The People in 1997: ‘It was a very special relationship. But that part of my life is over.
“It’s sad because we were together for a long time. But she got what she always wanted and I’m proud of her.”
Victoria was introduced to David in 1997 and just over a year after they met, in January 1998, the couple announced they were engaged, ending weeks of speculation.
In July 1999, they married in a spectacular ceremony, reportedly costing £800,000, with both wearing striking ensembles.

The couple, who are parents to Brooklyn (25), Romeo (21), Cruz (19) and Harper (12), have consistently defied critics and built one of the strongest marriages in show business.
Their wedding took place just as David had just won the treble with Manchester United and Victoria had become a global icon with the Spice Girls.
Their long-awaited wedding ceremony took place on July 4 in an extravagant ceremony, complete with gold thrones and a glittering tiara for the bride.
They had four more children: Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12.
On Thursday, toasting their 25th anniversary, they started their special day with a £510 bottle of 1993 Dom Perignon champagne for breakfast at Michelin star restaurant Core in Notting Hill.
