Phillip Schofield’s faithful wife is both enraged and devastated by his admission that he had an affair with a much younger colleague during their marriage.

Friends of Stephanie Lowe say she had no idea he was in a relationship because Schofield had always described the man as a friend and colleague.

Who is Stephanie Lowe?

Stephanie Lowe and Phillip Schofield met when they both worked at the BBC – when Schofield was on children’s television and she as a production assistant.

The couple married in 1993, in a ceremony at Acckergill Tower, a Category A castle in the north of Scotland.

Schofield and his wife appeared in a 2017 TV series titled Schofield’s South African Adventure where the couple explored the local culture of South Africa.

Stephanie also appeared on his 2019 show How To Spend Well At Christmas.

Despite separating from his wife after coming out as gay in 2020, the couple has not yet filed for divorce. Indeed, Schofield still wears his wedding ring, which he briefly showed to the camera during an interview with the BBC’s Amol Rajan.

However, the former This Morning presenter admitted that his marriage to Stephanie has suffered from the scandal involving Schofield and a younger colleague.

Speaking about his marriage in the BBC interview, Schofield said: “I had a great marriage, although it’s not brilliant at the moment, with an incredibly supportive wife.”

The former ITV presenter said the pair are ‘separated but we are very much together’, despite not apologizing directly to his wife in the interview.

When asked what he would like to say to Stephanie, Phillip said, “Oh my God, can you imagine how difficult that conversation was?” before pausing and saying, “Let’s just say it was an incredibly difficult conversation.”

“The hardest conversation I’ve ever had with her, and she’s extremely disappointed because I lied to her too. But she wished me well today, so we’ll see.’
