Who is Margo Martin? Trump’s VERY glamorous deputy communications chief was mistaken for wife Melania

Margo Martin, former President Donald Trump’s deputy director of communications, gained a little more notoriety on Tuesday when she accompanied her boss to his arraignment in Miami thanks to an on-air mix-up.

A Fox News anchor made her star rise faster than she could have imagined when he confused her with the ex-president’s wife, Melania.

John Roberts, a regular at the network, saw 27-year-old Martin arrive at Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. United States Courthouse in Miami and assumed it was Trump’s 53-year-old wife.

“We have a video we want to play here, Melania Trump enters the courthouse recently,” with the clip shown next to a chyron that reads, “Melania Trump arrives at Miami court.”

As DailyMail.com reported earlier Tuesday, Melania was seen leaving Trump Tower to visit a building that houses a John Frieda hair salon. She also went to the dentist and spent two hours in that office.

The apparent doppelgänger has become an important part of Trump’s team and may herself be involved in the case facing her boss.

An Oklahoma native, Martin has been with the president dating back to his time in the White House after joining Trump’s Save America PAC as an adviser.

She was one of the few who remained with the former president’s team after his tenure in the White House.

Martin became deputy director of communications for Trump’s Save America PAC, which was primarily used to send emails to supporters and organize his ongoing rallies around the country.

Margo was famously the communications assistant who provided the final press cover for the Trump administration.

The moment was captured on camera and circulated on social media where she said, “And one last time for the Trump White House, you got a travel photo cover.”

Martin may be involved in the Florida president’s case of 37 charges related to his possession of classified documents.

She regularly taped Trump at the time so she could accurately portray his remarks in the memoirs of former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, a CNN states report.

The recording could also be an important tool for prosecutors seeking to prove that Trump knew his ability to possess classified documents was limited.

It was provided to special counsel Jack Smith, whose team of prosecutors spent months investigating the possible mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and whether Trump or anyone else tried to criminally obstruct the investigation.

The investigation appears to be in its final stages, with prosecutors hearing a broad cross-section of witnesses before the grand jury.

The remarks, made in July 2021 at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, appear to undermine Trump’s repeated claims that the documents he took from the White House to Mar-a-Lago, his Florida estateafter leaving the office.

Martin has more than 13,000 followers on Instagram, where she often shares photos with the former president or her glamorous travels elsewhere. Recent photos have shown her in Scotland and Ireland, as well as Miami Heat NBA playoff games.

She’s less active on Twitter, but posted quite a bit today as the president went to and from the courthouse.

Martin posted videos of people cheering and supporting Trump, as well as his visit to the Versailles bakery, where he offered to buy food for everyone and listened to customers chant “Happy Birthday.”

She also snapped a picture of the President’s plane as he returned to Bedminster tonight.

Her sister, Markie, is a broadcast journalist who works as a morning anchor for NewsNation.

Fox News anchor Roberts finally apologized about 15 minutes into the broadcast error.

“We thought it was Melania Trump arriving, apparently it wasn’t Melania, we apologize for that,” Roberts said.

“But on a day like today, with so much coming and going, it’s easy to confuse two people from a distance.”

Both Trump and his aide Walt Nauta were accused of plotting to keep classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Nauta walked next to Trump at Versailles.

The former president waved briefly to a group of supporters lined up outside his golf course before the stream of black SUVs and police cars began their procession along empty highways.

When his arraignment was over, Trump visited the Versailles Restaurant in Miami

Earlier in court, the 76-year-old pleaded not guilty to 37 counts after being booked and fingerprinted at the courthouse complex in downtown Miami.

Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is handling the case for the Justice Department, sat in the front row of US magistrate Jonathan Goodman’s courtroom, while the ex-president sat with his lawyers.

Trump has called Smith several names, including a “deranged psychopath.”

The trial began just before 3 p.m. EST. Trump was released and no bond was set. After about 20 minutes of arguing by opposing lawyers, the court ruled that the ex-president is not allowed to talk to witnesses, including Nauta, about the case.

Trump keeps his passport and remains free to travel.
