Lady Judi Dench‘s partner David Mills has provided a rare insight into the The couple’s ten-year relationship.
The conservationist, 77, talked about his Oscar-winning other half, 88, during her movie Country file special.
David recalled meeting Judi after she visited his wildlife center in Surrey and joked ‘she fell in love with my squirrels, not me’.
But before the couple met in 2010, Judi had been married to actor Michael Williams for 30 years, until his tragic death in 2001 at the age of 65.

Michael was from Liverpool and rose to fame as a stage actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the very place where he soon met his wife Judi.
In addition to numerous appearances in the West End and on Broadway, he has also appeared in TV and film roles, including Z Cars and Educating Rita opposite Julie Walters.
Michael and Judi married in 1971 and remained married until his death from lung cancer in 2001 at age 65.
On January 10, 2001, Michael was made a Knight of Saint Gregory by Pope John Paul II for his contribution to Catholic life in Britain. Unfortunately he died the next day.
Speaking of her late husband David Tennant’s Podcast Judi said, “He was the most selfless man, and he would never attribute that to anything that could be between us… Oh God, how he always made me laugh.”
