Who is Erin Carter? A new Netflix drama has viewers say they ‘can’t stop watching’… but the series is POSTED by critics decrying ‘horrible dialogue and clichés’
Netflix fans can’t stop watching the streaming giant’s new drama Who Is Erin Carter? because they are ‘glued’ to their screens.
This is despite critics scrutinizing the new drama, describing it as “deadly boring.”
Released on August 24, the show revolves around the secretive teacher whose name inspires the title, as her past catches up with her despite the fact that she has left for Spain with her family.
One viewer said, “I randomly started watching this new show on Netflix “Who is Erin Carter” and now I can’t stop watching.”
Another commented, “Who is Erin Carter?” is good! It made me glue.’

Mystery: The series follows the title character as she tries to leave her past behind with a new life in Spain, but the teacher’s dark past begins to catch up with her
Can’t Stop: Viewers of the new drama are struggling to take their eyes off it
The titular lecturer is played by Evin Ahmad, 33, who was named the Rising Star at the 2022 Berlin International Film Festival.
Her character has moved to Barcelona with her family, where it seems she hopes to cover her tracks.
But her hopes for a new life are called into question when she is recognized by an armed robber, and people from her past seem to keep popping up.
Many viewers of the new show are beginning to understand why Ahmad is being tipped for big things, describing Who Is Erin Carter? as “a very, very good watch,” applauding, or giving five stars.
Someone simply tweeted, “Who is Erin Carter on Netflix 10/10.”
Added one more: ‘Who is Erin Carter on Netflix is so good!!!’
Others have likened it to some TV royalty.
‘Who is Erin Carter? A remake of The Long Kiss Goodnight with a pinch of Villanelle,’ someone said, the last name being a reference to Killing Eve’s iconic protagonist.
Another compared it to the 2021 Netflix hit Stay Close, while another said it “looks like we’ve got another hit on our hands.”
What doesn’t bode well is the critical reception, such as The guard in a review: ‘This mystery drama is deadly boring, full of clichés and gruesome dialogue.’
Needless to say, this came with a single star rating.
In the same way, but more measured, Decision maker warned that the series could be a “waste of time.”
Time will tell which way this goes, with Netflix’s next global top 10 set to be released on August 27, but who is Erin Carter? certainly seems to have had a strong start with viewers.
Brilliant reception: The new miniseries was compared to some recent TV royalties in Killing Eve, as well as the Netflix drama Stay Close and the 1996 movie The Long Kiss Goodnight
