With Duke advancing to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament, sophomore Kyle Filipowski and his girlfriend Caitlin Hutchinson have plenty to be excited about.
The seven-footer contributed 16 points and one rebound for a double-double as the Blue Devils defeated Houston 54-51 in the Sweet 16.
Hutchinson took to social media to celebrate Filipowski’s performance and Duke’s win. Hutchinson posted a photo of her dog looking excited and wrote “elite eight” as she tagged her friend’s handle.
The couple has been loved up since high school and now lives in Durham, where Filipowski’s star is rising for The Brotherhood.

The pair started dating before the six-foot-tall committed to the college hoops powerhouse
Hutchinson attended James Clemens High School in Madison, Alabama. While there, she played on the Jets girls lacrosse team.
According to her LinkedIn page, she attended the University of Alabama from 2015 to 2018 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in education, kinesiology and exercise science; Health promotion. The page also states that Hutchinson received her Master of Business Administration from LSU Shreveport in 2022.
Hutchinson now lives in Durham, North Carolina, and works as an executive assistant for Intelerand Medical Systems – a position she has held since May 2022.
How they met is a mystery, but Hutchinson and Filipowski started dating when the Duke star was in high school. In May 2022, Filipowski posted prom photos with Hutchinson as his date.
Hutchinson attended the University of Alabama and LSU before moving to Durham, NC
Later that same year, the couple celebrated their first anniversary. On December 12, Hutchinson posted a collage of their photos and wrote, “A year with my favorite person.”
Hutchinson was pictured several times supporting Filipowski during his matches.
On Sunday, the ACC powerhouse will take on NC State in a matchup in North Carolina in the Elite 8. Whether or not Hutchinson will be in attendance should Duke continue to make progress remains a question.
