A mother has faced criticism after she left a note saying she had left her ‘baby in the car’ while she went shopping.
Bonnie Engle left a handwritten sign in the open car window warning others that she “will be back soon.”
The sign read, “My baby is fine. He has his snacks and his drink!! I’m in Doel.’ The works ‘OK’, ‘Target’ and ‘Be back soon’ were also heavily underlined.
Next to an video shared on Instagram, the American mother-of-three wrote, “No judgement, he’s safe and sound.”
Although viewers expected to see a child in the video, the footage instead pans to Bonnie’s husband sitting in the front seat with an iced coffee and bag of popcorn looking unimpressed.

Other parents admitted they were about to unleash their anger on Bonnie, but then laughed.
“For a moment I was about to get really upset… I didn’t expect that,” one mother wrote, and the comment alone was appreciated by nearly 6,000 others.
“My heart collapsed and then I [laughed]’ added another.
A third quipped: “Don’t try to pet, don’t be nice.”
“Meanwhile, she’s holding the real baby,” one speculated.
“I was about to get really mad,” added another with a laughing emoji and tagged a friend.
However, others did not find the joke funny at all.
“You shouldn’t joke about leaving a baby alone in a car,” one wrote, another added, “Honestly, this is so tacky.”
A third added: “Let’s make a video mocking one of the leading causes of infant and toddler death…for likes.”
