When did Oliver Gliese become the victim of homophobic attacks on social media?

Adam made headlines after speaking out about Oliver being subjected to homophobic comments after they enjoyed a night out in West Hollywood in August 2023.

The singer posted a lengthy message on his Instagram Story to express his thoughts on the harsh online reaction to the photos from their outing.

He said that while he enjoyed the time with his friend, he was unnerved by the reaction to the photos.

Adam wrote: ‘Oli and I had a great night out! Rare to come across paps in WEHO – so retro. Haha. I’m glad to see support in the comments. Also shocked to see the obnoxious homophobia and ignorance plaguing people.

‘Oli identifies as a he. he has poor style and refuses to conform to societal norms regarding his fashion choices. He is beautiful and brave and daring. He is a leader, not a follower. One of the many things I love about him!

‘We’re very happy together and if the haters don’t like it, we don’t really care***. Grow up and challenge yourself to explore tolerance. We’re all just trying to stay happy and satisfied with our lives.”

The artist concluded by giving his honest opinion about the people who posted the homophobic comments.

“Chances are that if you’re trolling us online, you’re miserable in your own life and can’t deal with your problems,” he wrote.

At the time, Oliver also took to his Instagram to condemn the ‘bigots’ and thank the fans who showed him support.

He thanked those who “see and respect him” and those who “share love and not hate online.”
