“This whole thing is probably going to cost us about $200,000,” she added.

“I can hardly believe it, but I know a lot of people who have been following me have talked about the financial stress that comes with this, and it is real.”

‘Listen, I feel privileged that I can take my savings and use it for my projects. But it’s still the case that our money is being spent on something that, if you think about it, is the only thing we really want and are willing to pay for. But it’s so heartbreaking that it’s something that happens to so many people so easily and for free.’

Whitney, who previously responded to comments about her weight loss, also shared that she was worried about her upcoming egg retrieval.

“I started to get a little nervous about the whole egg retrieval process and I didn’t know what the schedule was. I was basically waiting for my period to come so I could see what the next month would be like.”

She also said that this time she is having the collection done by a different doctor in New York City.

“I was not happy with what happened to my doctors in Los Angeles.”

“And that’s not to say they did anything wrong, but my first doctor was a doctor who said I could make four embryos from 21 eggs. We transferred two of those embryos to a surrogate, and they both miscarried.”

“I’m afraid I won’t get quality eggs anymore and what will all this be for. I’m afraid,” she wrote

“So we have two more embryos from that round on ice, but once we went to talk to Dr. Fisher in New York — who Timmy actually grew up with and who’s helped a lot of our friends get pregnant — she said, I really think the best bet is to do a whole new round of retrieval, create new embryos and then try it with a new surrogate.”

‘We haven’t found a surrogate mother yet, we’re still working on that, that’s a completely different story.’

“It’s so expensive, and if you want a new match and you don’t have a doctor’s note saying you need a new match, you have to pay a whole new amount.”

‘I am now trying to get a letter from the doctor stating why we are not continuing with that previous surrogate mother.’

“The two embryos that we put into our last surrogate, we don’t know exactly what was wrong. They were genetically tested, but the surrogate also had some blood clots, so the doctor should give us a note so we can match them again with a surrogate without being charged another $15,000.”

Whitney also shared why her doctor thinks her previous eggs may have been “overcooked.”

“She said that maybe I had been given a little too much medication and that the eggs had been taken out of the oven a little too late. That’s why a lot of the eggs were ‘overcooked’ and we could only make four out of 21.”

“So this time she’ll monitor my medication differently and dose everything differently. Hopefully we’ll get healthier embryos.”

“I mean, we only need one. Would I like a girl? Yes. Do I need a girl? No. I just want a healthy baby.”

On Tuesday, she also shared an update on her Instagram, with a photo of herself on the beach in a blue swimsuit.

“As I head into my egg retrieval I wanted to share an honest update on how I’m feeling and honestly I feel terrible. It’s not the physical discomfort (which really sucks – bloating, bruising, swelling, heaviness) but the emotional discomfort,” she wrote in the caption.

‘The hormones make me feel like I can’t handle anything anymore, like everything is just the worst. And I’m afraid that I won’t get quality eggs and what this is all for. I’m afraid. My energy is zero and I feel like I’m not showing myself the way I should as a woman, mother, sister, friend, colleague, etc.’

She continued, “My stomach feels in my throat and I’ve been on the verge of crying/really crying all day. The thing is – every day feels different. Yesterday, 2 days before the retrieval, was the worst, while today it feels a little better.”

“I’ll be ready to be grateful again soon, but I’m not there yet with so much in the air. That may be pessimistic, but I don’t want to force feelings. I can’t thank you enough for your support and words of encouragement.”

She and her husband Tim have had a difficult path in their attempt to add another child to the family.
