Manchester City star Erling Haaland has topped the Premier League’s top earners list this season, with the Norwegian’s salary after bonuses far exceeding the wages of Liverpool teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a stunning debut season at the Etihad since joining Man City from Borussia Dortmund for £51 million last summer.
Mail Sport revealed in October that Haaland’s base salary was in line with City’s other top earners, but substantial, almost guaranteed bonuses have pushed his weekly wages above £850,000.
Here, Mail sports takes a look at the top 10 top earners in the top flight.
All figures have been obtained independently, but some of the figures provided are approximations and not exact figures.
Man City star Erling Haaland is the highest-earning player in the Premier League this season
Erling Haaland (Man City) £865,000 a week
Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm this season and the Norwegian unsurprisingly won the Footballer of the Year award from the Football Writers’ Association.
The award came weeks after he broke Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s record for most goals in a Premier League season after scoring his 35th of the campaign against West Ham.
Haaland, who has scored 52 goals in 48 games this season, will look to sack City to a Treble.
The reigning Premier League champions are closing in on a fifth title in six years as they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final and rivals Man United in the FA Cup final.
Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) – £385,000 a week
Kevin De Bruyne follows his Man City team-mate and the Belgian continues to play a vital role for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 31-year-old’s absence from the team this season has occasionally been questioned by pundits, but De Bruyne played an important role in the final weeks of the season.
De Bruyne has scored 10 goals and provided 27 assists so far this season, as he has now crossed the 350-appearance mark for City.
Mo Salah is Liverpool’s biggest earner, having signed a £385,000-a-week contract last summer
Mo Salah (Liverpool) – £385,000 per week
Liverpool talisman Mo Salah is unsurprisingly the club’s biggest earner, with the Egyptian having played a vital role in their recent success.
Salah penned a new deal last July, with improved terms of nearly 400,000 a week. The deal will keep the striker at Anfield until June 2025.
Salah is the fourth top scorer in the Premier League this season with 19 goals, while also providing 10 assists. His contribution was key to Liverpool’s late push for the Champions League places.
Casemiro (Man United) – £375,000 per week
The Brazilian international midfielder has played a vital role since moving from Real Madrid to Manchester United for £60 million last summer.
Casemiro made 49 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, despite being suspended for seven domestic games after receiving two consecutive red cards.
The 31-year-old scored the opening goal in United’s Carabao Cup final victory over Newcastle and will set his sights on winning the FA Cup.
United will face rivals Man City in the first final of the Manchester FA Cup at Wembley next month.
David de Gea (Man United) – £375,000 a week
The Man United shot-stopper remains one of the Premier League’s highest-paid players, but is unlikely to stay in the top 10 for much longer.
De Gea is expected to agree a new contract to remain at Old Trafford as his current contract expires at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old, who has kept 16 clean sheets in the Premier League this season, must accept a reduction in his wages of £375,000 a week to stay at Man United.

Raheem Sterling (Chelsea) – £350,000 a week
Sterling signed a five-year contract with Chelsea after joining Manchester City for £50 million last summer.
The England international reportedly saw the £300,000-a-week wages he was earning at City rise significantly when he moved to Stamford Bridge.
Sterling has yet to reach the same heights at Chelsea amid the Blues struggles this season.
The striker scored just nine goals in his 36 appearances during his debut season with the club.
Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea, on loan to Inter Milan) £325,000 a week
Sterling reportedly overtook Romelu Lukaku as the highest-earning Blues when he joined the club.
The Belgian striker spent the season on loan at Inter Milan. His move last summer came just a year after he completed a £98 million transfer from Inter to Chelsea.
Lukaku is expected to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Blues facing a major decision on whether to include him in their first-team plans.
The club could face a challenge if they decide to sell the 30-year-old, as his wages are estimated to be between £325,000 and £450.00 per week, subject to bonuses.

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) – £300,000 a week

The Dutch defender was a transformative signing for the Reds, with his performances crucial to helping Liverpool win the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League a year later.
Van Dijk was named PFA Player of the Year in 2019, while also being named Team of the Year three times.
The 31-year-old has admitted his performance has slipped this season during Liverpool’s challenging season, but he has vowed to get back to his consistent best.
Jack Grealish (Man City) – £300,000 a week
Grealish became the Premier League’s first £100 million footballer in the summer of 2021 when he made the move from Aston Villa to Man City.
The England star has established himself in the City squad this season and is instrumental in their pursuit of major honours.
Grealish recently signed the most lucrative football contract ever handed to a British footballer by becoming the face of Puma – a £10 million per season contract.
He has also signed a £10 million deal with Gucci and has a sponsorship with boohooMan believed to be worth around £1 million.
Harry Kane (Tottenham) – £300,000 a week
The England captain is unsurprisingly Tottenham’s biggest earner, and Kane continues to perform at the highest level despite the club’s turmoil.
Kane has broken both Tottenham Hotspur’s and England’s goalscoring record in recent months, with the 29-year-old’s 27 Premier League goals this season only bettered by Haaland.
Kane’s final strike saw him fall 50 goals behind Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260.
The Spurs star enters the final 12 months of the six-year deal he signed in 2018.
Speculation about his future has mounted with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG linked with Kane as he sees the first silverware of his career.
