Where to Unlock Viper in FFXIV

Adder is a melee DPS job in Final Fantasy 14introduced alongside the Dawn Trail expansion. Vipers use dual blades that attach in the center to deal damage.

Vipers hack and slash like scout class and share their gear with Ninjas. It mainly uses three-step combos, while ending the combo with various skills.

Below we explain what you need to do to unlock Viper FFXIV.

Where to Unlock Viper in FFXIV

Viper unlocks via a quest in Ul’dah. Before you go there, make sure you have met the following requirements:

• You have one combat task at level 80 or higher.
• You own the Dawn Path expansion.

Once you meet these two requirements, go to Ul’dah, stairs of Nald and talk to the Worried Weaver NPC at the location below to accept the quest ‘Enter the Viper’.

After completing this quest, you can equip your jobstone and Viper swords to play as the new melee DPS job.

While the quest will net you some decent gear, if you want to be well-prepared for your new journey, consider picking up Augmented Cryptlurker gear from Aymark in Eulmore or Mowen’s Merchant in the Crystarium in exchange for Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. Vipers use scout gear (the same gear that Ninjas use).
