Where to Pre-Order DC Versus Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus
Some of the wildest collaborations between Marvel and DC comics are returning to print for the first time since 1996, launching on October 8. DC Versus Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus is a 25-issue compilation featuring some of the biggest battles and strangest confrontations between the two comic book giants’ A-list heroes.
The DC vs Marvel run began as a special crossover miniseries, with two issues published by Marvel and the other two published by DC. Readers originally voted on the winners of each issue by filling out ballots that were mailed in advance to comic book stores.

The original four-issue run was eventually expanded into what would become known as The Amalgam Universe. This pitted heroes from both franchises against each other, but also resulted in some truly strange and sometimes cursed pairings such as Bat thing (a combination of DC’s Man-Bat and Marvel’s Man-Thing) and Lobo the Duck (of course a mix of Marvel’s Howard the Duck and DC’s Lobo).

Next to the original DC vs Marvel runs from 1994, The Omnibus of the Amalgam Era contains the eight-issue sequel featuring Access, the superhero responsible for the creation of the Amalgam Universe, and the subsequent one-shots.
