Weapon Mod Banks are a new addition to Fortnite from Chapter 5 Season 1.
As the name describes, this allows you to customize your weapons – from reducing recoil to increasing bullet capacity. While you can find custom weapons in the wild, the only way to customize them is through the use of Mod Benches.
This guide will tell you where to find Weapon Mod Benches (and in turn the Society bosses), how to access the vaults and how to use Weapon Mod Benches.
How to modify weapons in Fortnite
To modify weapons Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 you must first acquire a Society Medallion and then find a Weapon Mod Bench.
You'll find Weapon Mod Benches in the same places you'll find the five Society NPC bosses – which is handy because you'll also find Medallions here. Here you will find their different locations.
Where to Find Weapon Mod Benches in Fortnite

Like weapon cases, weapon mod banks are located in vaults. But these vaults are run by The Society – and that means you have to wear a Society Medallion to enter. There are five Weapon Mod Benches in it Fortnite Underground. They can be found in:
- Lush cave
- Reckless Railroads
- Great Glacier
- Screen fields
- Snooty steppes
The Society vaults you're looking for are much better hidden than those of the Underground, where you can find weapon cases. They are usually located in the basement of one of the large houses.

As you approach the vault door, you will be scanned. The door will only open if you have the Society Medallion from the boss of that location with you.
Lavish Lair (Oscar) Weapon Mod Bench location

Go to the north side of Lavish Lair and look for the greenhouse (arboretum?) at the back of the mansion. On the north side of it are some stairs with a tunnel underneath. You will find the safe door at the end of the tunnel.
Reckless Railways (Valeria) Weapon Mod Bench location

There is a villa on the southwest corner of Reckless Railways. Look for the atrium in the center with the fountain. On the north there is a bar in front of a staircase. Go past the bar and down the stairs and you'll find a hallway leading to the safe.
Grand Glacier (Montague) Weapon Mod Bench location

The main lobby of the Grand Glacier overlooks the reception area and main staircase. Head towards the stairs, but turn left before you get there. There's a door on the wall there. Take the corridor on the right and through the broken wall. The safe is on your right.
Screen Fields (Nisha) Weapon Mod Bench Location

Enter the largest house in Fencing Fields from the southwest corner. You walk into a kitchen. Go right and then walk forward until there are bookcases on the left. Break the bookcase to reveal a hidden staircase to the safe.
Snooty Steppes (Peter Griffin) Weapon Mod Bench location

Go through the front door of the mansion and turn right. A little further down the hall you will find a staircase on your right. Take it down two floors and the hallway will lead you to another staircase that will take you to the vault.
How to Use a Weapon Mod Bench in Fortnite

Once you're in the vault, head to the workbench (it's usually surrounded by weapon cases) to customize your weapons. You can use the optics, magazine, underflowAnd walk. Every change costs 75 gold bars.
You can install up to four mods on each weapon. The rarity weapons determine how many mods are pre-installed. Uncommon (green) has one, rare (blue) has two, epic (purple) has three, and legendary (gold) has four.
