Where to find the Glide Armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Sliding armor may seem quite rudimentary at first, but it hides one of the most groundbreaking skills The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The set increases Link’s skydive mobility, which is a good bonus in itself that only benefits you in certain situations. However, upgrading the armor gives the ability to fully survive fall damage.

If you tend to skydive often and can’t quite get the timing right to open your paraglider before you hit the ground, don’t worry. This guide explains where to find the Glide Armor set — the Glide Shirt, Glide Tights, and Glide Mask — in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and how to upgrade it to get the Impact Proof bonus. This way you can say goodbye to fall damage and fall freely (freely) without consequences.

You can use the Float shirt on Courage Island at the coordinates (-2400, 0824, 0615), a sky island northwest of the Central Hyrule Sky. To get there quickly, Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower is the best choice. Launch into the sky, then slide southwest to the island below the rounded elevations on the side.

Funnily enough, of the three places, this is probably the one where you can reach the top easily and without much effort. Doing so will allow you to activate the trial version and perform a test run. Once down, the Construct will ask you if you want to do a challenge.

Regardless of how you get to Courage Island, you must then pay the fee of one Zonai charge and accept the challenge.

You must repeat this challenge in different locations for all three pieces of armor. Essentially you have to skydive through green rings floating in the air, until you land back on the island with the Construct, with the final destination being the pool of water in the middle. If you’re having a hard time, try not to speed up your dive too often by using R — take a few seconds after going through a green ring to move yourself onto the next one.

Completing this trial will reward you with the Float shirt. This armor piece has 2 defense and increases your skydiving mobility. Oh, and don’t forget to activate the Taunhiy Shrine before you leave.

You can use the Slide tights on Bravery Island at the coordinates (0176, 1988, 0758), a sky island in the North Hyrule Sky archipelago. To get there, head to the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, launch into the sky and paraglide south to the circular island far to the south from the group of four there.

Don’t worry about the huge constructions along the way. You can paraglide your way to the island as it is at a lower altitude. Make sure to alternate between scuba diving and paragliding. Or better yet, cook yourself some meals with Stamella Magic Mushrooms to keep your stamina up.

Once on the island you will find a Steward Construct. They tell you about the diving ceremony. Surrender one Zonai charge and complete the timed challenge, where you are tasked with skydiving through green rings as fast as possible.

Completing this trial will reward you with the Slide tights. This armor piece has 2 defense and increases your skydiving mobility. Don’t forget to activate the Simosiwak Shrine when you leave.

You can find the Glide Mask on Valor Island at the coordinates (4459, -821, 1114), a sky island in the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago. To get there, I recommend using the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower to take to the air and then paragliding northeast toward the circular surface you see on the map.

You don’t need to climb anything as the island is low. I managed to get around this by paragliding there, but if you’re struggling, I recommend cooking meals with Stamella mushrooms so you can replenish your stamina along the way.

Once on the island you will find a Steward Construct. They tell you about the diving ceremony. For the low price of one Zonai charge, you can take on a timed challenge that asks you to skydive through green rings as quickly as possible.

Completing this trial will reward you with the Sliding mask. This armor piece has 2 defense and increases your skydiving mobility. Also, don’t forget to activate the Sihajog Shrine on the island.

How to remove fall damage in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Once you have the full Glide Armor set, upgrade each piece of armor twice will you the Impact resistant bonus, which completely negates fall damage if you wear the entire set.

To do this, you need the following:

  • First upgrade: 3 Keese wings for each piece of armor and a compensation of rupees.
  • Second upgrade: 5 Keese wings and 6 Aerocuda eyeballs for each piece of armor, as well as a rupee allowance.

Remember, for both items, once you’ve installed Sensor+ on your Purah Pad, you can take a photo with the in-game camera (just drop them on the floor!) and head over to the Hyrule Compendium to mark them. As you wander around, the sensor will let you know what sightings are nearby.

Once you have everything, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains and upgrade each piece of armor twice. There won’t be a grand party from the fairy, but as soon as you open your inventory, you’ll see the “Impact Proof” bonus next to the armor. Go now, and skydive without fear.
