What is Refined Iron Sand in Black Myth: Wukong?

Refined iron sand is one of the many raw materials needed to craft epic and legendary weaponswhich have extremely powerful effects and high stats. Different weapons and upgrades require different amounts of refined iron sand, and you may need to mix it with other ultra-rare crafting items. The Legendary Spikeshaft Stafffor example (pictured above), requires only four of the extremely rare Gold Tree Cores from Chapter Four, while also requiring eight pieces of refined Iron Sand.

As you progress through Chapter 3, you’ll find more and more refined Iron Sand, until eventually you have so much that you won’t have any upgrades left to spend it all on – just like sidewhich is a rare armor source in chapter 2.

Where to find refined iron sand in Black Myth: Wukong

Refined Iron Sand is very rare – if not literally impossible to obtain – in the first two chapters of the game, and you won’t really encounter it until Chapter 3, once you reach the border The New West. Once you first encounter it, you can earn the resource randomly by killing certain enemies. Resources like refined iron sand are eventually quite abundant, but there aren’t many guaranteed sources. If you are in dire need of refined iron sand, you can purchase it from the shrines in Chapter 3 or in Zodiac Village in the Ruyi Scroll. Shops don’t have many epic resources like refined iron sand and they are very expensive, costing a whopping 1200 Will each. One way to get a guaranteed drop of refined iron sand is to kill the final boss of chapter 3, but of course you can only do this once.
