To get blast cores, you need to disable them crab-like volcano creatures called blasters in the dry valley biome. There are many inside dry valley caves also. These enemies will chase you and explode after they see you, so that will be necessary terribly carefully. We recommend using ranged weapons and kiting them to take them out.
You can find a lot of them in the Dry Valley biome itself, especially during the day. At night, most spawns are taken up by wolves and skeletons, so daytime is your best bet.
What uses explosion cores in Lego Fortnite Odyssey
You need explosion cores for a number of utensils, such as the gemstone grinder and the metal melter. Most notably, you can use them to create Thermal Detonators, a Star Wars-based item that works effectively as a powerful grenade. However, to make these you need a special craft bench, the Rebel Workbench.
