Where to find dragon tear memory locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Among the many changes to the surface of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are mysterious, glowing symbols that have appeared on large parts of the landscape. Somewhere in each of these images is a small puddle of light hidden. Being inside these puddles Dragon Tearsthat the “Memorycutscenes that tell the stories of Zelda, Rauru, SoniaAnd Ganondorf.

Whether you met Impa (we met her on North Hyrule PlainWest of Lookout landing), which gives you the “Dragon’s Tearsmain quest to search every glyph and find every dragon tear, or just explore a glyph on a whim, collecting every memory is worth it because of the context they lend to Tears of the Kingdom‘s story. In addition, finding each Teardrop will reveal the location of The master sword (possibly well before the main story does, depending on the order you take things in).

Below we outline where to find each glyph, where to find each Dragon Tear within each respective glyph, and some general rules of thumb that will make this side adventure easier.

What you need to know about Dragon Tears

We’ll cover the specific Dragon Tear locations for each glyph below, but for those of you looking for some handy tips to just nudge you in the right direction, keep these pointers in mind:

  1. When viewing the glyphs from a distance (probably from the air after being catapulted from a Skyview Tower), look for a teardrop shape completely filled in with gold “paint”, as opposed to the many hollow teardrop shapes that dot each glyph. The glowing puddle that the Dragon Tear is in will reveal itself in the solid teardrop shape when you’re almost on top of it.
  2. Because Link has to stand firm to “examine” each of the Dragon Tear puddles, these glowing pools will always be on relatively level ground. This knowledge can help with the glyphs drawn on steep hills or cliffs; in other words, don’t waste time scouring the steepest spots. Your best bet is to investigate the small bulges and buttes that are large and flat enough to house a pool of Dragon Tear.
  3. Finding each tear will reveal The Master Sword’s location. See our message Tear #12: Tears of the Dragon below.
  4. Look for rocks in the middle of tears and other symmetrical marks in the glyphs – there’s probably a Korok hiding underneath.

Without further ado, here’s the location (complete with map images and coordinates) of every glyph we’ve found so far, along with their corresponding Dragon Tears.
