Where to find all Clockwork Castellans in Resident Evil 4 remake
The Resident Evil 4 redo Castellans watch are not just a fun collectible to hunt. Just like the mr. Racoon bobbleheads in the resident evil 2 remake, there are 16 figures – this time modeled after Ramón Salazar himself – to destroy. Once you do, you’ll be rewarded with one Ancient knifewhich, after you fully upgrade, will be indestructible.
Parrying is a fundamental mechanism in the Resident Evil 4 remake, and that includes repairing your knives. The Primal Knife completely resolves this condition, making it one of the most important rewards to pursue. Below are all the Clockwork Castellan locations and what the Primal Knife offers in terms of stats.
All 16 Clockwork Castellan locations in Resident Evil 4 remake
There are 16 Clockwork Castellan figures in the Resident Evil 4 remake, matching the number of chapters in the game. That said, some can be obtained at various points in the story, as long as you don’t lock yourself out by heading to the final objective in each of the three regions.
Once you see a Clockwork Castellan, all you have to do is shoot it or hit it with your knife if you can reach it. If you’re using closed captioning, you’ll see a message that says “[mechanical cadence]when you are close to it, as well as a clockwork sound. But if you want to let your guard down, we’ve got you covered.
Here are all 16 Clockwork Castellan locations in the Resident Evil 4 redo:
Clockwork Castellan #1 – Village
You can find the first collectible in the optional area that emerges from the merchant’s first spot. Go to the valley and take the Hexagon Key from the tower in the middle. Then come back and open this path. Head north until you get to the hut on the left, then shoot the collectible on the ground inside the hut.
Clockwork Castellan #2 – More
The second collectible is in the dock below the merchant’s place near the lake area (there’s a ladder that takes you there, or you can dock your boat). Head to the southeast corner of the area and head to the chest you can destroy. The figurine can be shot through the crack above you between the boxes and the ceiling.
Clockwork Castellan #3 – Forest altar
The third is in the Forest Altar, which you can access through the Lakeside Settlement in Chapter 4 using the Insignia Key. Go to the gate on the other side of the altar and look to the side facing the forest to find the figurine on the ground.
Clockwork Castellan #4 – Lakeside settlement
The fourth is in the southwestern cabin in the Lakeside Settlement, which you can reach during Chapter 4. Jump to the inner room and you’ll find the figurine close to the broken ceiling.
Clockwork Castellan #5 – Mansion of the village chief
The fifth Clockwork Castellan is located in the attic of the Village Chief’s Manor. In Chapter 5, go to the mansion with Ashley and drop her down the ladder into the room on the second floor. Once in the attic, look to the left and shoot the figurine there.
Movement Castellan #6 – Checkpoint
The sixth is on the way to the checkpoint in Chapter 6. After clearing the rift of enemies, you’ll come across the door that leads to the next area. Before you go, turn right towards the stake on the corner and shoot the figurine next to it.
Clockwork Castellan #7 – Treasure Chest
The seventh collectible is right before you enter the Treasury in Chapter 7. After the fight in the dungeon, you will go to a silent cellar. The figurine stands on top of one of the shelves in the center of the room.
Clockwork Castellan #8 – Courtyard
The eighth figurine is in chapter 9, in that northwest corner of the maze close to the stairs (while looking at the map). It’s behind the table with the first aid spray.
Clockwork Castellan #9 – Castle battlements
There’s another collectible in Chapter 9 where you first have to escape the Garrador and then kill it with the cannon. Return to that tower, where you first encounter the enemy, and instead of following the same path as before, head in the opposite direction, facing the first tower you enter. So if you look at the map, it’s the map to the left of Castle Battlements.
Jump over there, grab the treasure and other items, then go all the way around to find the collectible within reach on some bags.
Clockwork Castellan #10 – Depths
There’s another collectible in Chapter 10, as you look for a way out after falling. Once you’re in the trading room, look at the sewer channel across the street. The Clockwork Castellan hangs upside down and you can aim upside down. Try to step aside a bit if you don’t see it right away.
Clockwork Castellan #11 – Stopover
Next is in Chapter 11, in the stopover after the cart section. Jump in and aim for the south side of the room (looking at the map), as the figurine is hanging from the ceiling.
Clockwork Castellan #12 – Clock Tower
The eleventh figurine is in chapter 12. Once inside the clock tower, head to the northwest corner (by looking at the map) of the first floor (the first floor) to find it on top of a crate. This is one of the few that you can also destroy with your knife.
Clockwork Castellan #13 – Yard
On to Chapter 13. After going through the Wharf, and just before you enter the door on the northeast side of the map, there’s a detour you can take to the right with some cargo shipments and enemies patrolling.
Take them out and head to the southeast corner, using the map as a reference. The figurine is under the red cargo strapped to the truck, to the right of the green forklift.
Clockwork Castellan #14 – Amber Storage
It’s time for Chapter 14. After saying goodbye to Ashley in the Amber Storeroom, you’ll come across a road that leads to the campground. Take the left one going west and you’ll come to a small checkpoint room. Shoot the figurine on top of the lockers against the wall.
Clockwork Castellan #15 – Storage of monsters
Chapter 15, almost there. Once you’re in the Specimen Storage, make a detour to the north room (looking at the map) and destroy the figurine that’s in the ceiling.
Clockwork Castellan #16 – Escape sequence
The last Clockwork Castellan can be found in the very last chapter, after you have fought the final boss. Once the escape sequence begins, enter a room where an enemy will try to attack you.
Step inside and go downtown, face north and use the map as a reference. There is a green forklift truck on the right and a stack of crates on the left. Right in the middle, standing stoically in the dark, is the final collectible.
Reward for finding all Clockwork Castellans
After destroying all 16 Clockwork Castellans, complete the corresponding challenge. To get the Primal Knife, you need to go to the Store with additional content and buy it for 1,000 Challenge Points.
How to get the Indestructible Blade in the Resident Evil 4 remake
To find it, you need to interact with a typewriter, and the Primal Knife is located in the storage tab. Just select it to add it to your inventory. It doesn’t matter when you do this, by the way – I reloaded older saves and the blade was available anyway.
Take it to the merchant and you can upgrade both its strength and durability. After both stats max out, you can grab the exclusive upgrade for the Primal Knife to become Indestructible, which costs 10,000 ptas. or a ticket from the trader’s trading tab.
The only downside is that you actually have to beat the story once to get the blade. But hey, new game plus is going to be a breeze.
