Where can you find bronze in Hades 2?

Bronze is the resource you get Hades 2 once you get the Surface area. It’s a crucial ingredient for weapon crafting, one you’ll need if you want to unlock all the weapons (particularly the Argent Skull).

Unfortunately, it takes at least a few runs before you can reach the surface. In this Hades 2 guide, we will tell you how to reach the surface And how to find bronze when you are there.

How to reach Surface and find Olympus Hades 2

Unlike the first Hades, Hades 2 offers multiple routes: the underworld and the surface. You start the game and can delve into the underworld, but the Surface is something you have to unlock after several hours of play and multiple incantations.

You’ll first need to unlock the departments that lead to the Surface. You will then have to banish the curse that hits you there.

You know you’re getting close to bronze when you unlock the ability to get the ‘Permeation of Witching-Wards‘incantation at the cauldron at the crossroads, which should be available shortly afterwards Hermes will contact you in the underworld.

For this incantation you need a cinder (which you get when you defeat Hecate) and a moly (a flower you can find in Erebus, the first area). You also need one shadow, which requires the Alchemy system to unlock. If you don’t have access to Alchemy yet, do another run or two and it should appear.

When you finally visit the cauldron at the crossroads, you can use Alchemy, which allows you to convert some of your more common materials into rare ones. The alchemy you must perform to reach the surface is “Shadow extraction”, which will change 30 axle, 30 psycheAnd 3 lots of fabric in a single shadow. Once you start the Alchemy process here, you’ll need to kill some time to let it cook. You can run again or take an NPC to the hot springs for a bath.

Once you finally have your shadow, perform the “Permeation of Witching-Wards” incantation. This will remove the training area section that goes to the surface so you can go there on your next run.

But during your first run in the Surface, after clearing the first room, you’ll be taking significant damage every few seconds, effectively preventing you from getting too far into the city of Ephyra – and ending your hunt for bronze hindered.

Now you need to remove the curse, which will require another incantation and some items you don’t have yet.

Back at the intersection you now have access to the “The unraveling of a fateful bond‘incantation, which will remove your curse and let you hang out on the Surface for as long as you want. To use it, you need two lotus flowers, two nightshades, two mossAnd two thalamus.

  • Lotus is a flower found in Oceanus.
  • Nightshade grows from nightshade seeds that you can harvest in Erebus.
  • Moss is located on the surface and can be found by identifying small green spots on the ground. Just start running and grab it before you die. Keep doing Surface runs until you have enough.
  • Thalamus is the hardest to get. Equip the Silver Spade tool first and then enter the Underworld. You are looking for Chaos Gates, which takes you to the primordial realm of Chaos. Once there you should find a digging spot on the ground. Use your Silver Spade to get one seed origin (it should hopefully get you two). Keep visiting Chaos during your runs until you have two origin seeds. Back in the Crossroads, plant them and wait for them to grow into thalamus.

Once you have all your resources, use the cauldron for the Unraveling a Fateful Bond incantation. Now, free from the curse, you can finally hunt for bronze on the Surface.
