When will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse come to Netflix?
Miles Morales finds himself in the middle of a vast universe of other Spider-People Spider-Man: About the Spider-Verse. But before we see the end of the Spider-Verse trilogy next year Beyond the Spider-Verseyou should be able to relive every minute of Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix this winter.
Watching a movie in the comfort of your own home is always nice, About the Spider-Verse has an added benefit to coming to streaming: Easter eggs. As fans have already pointed out, the second Spider-Verse movie is absolutely packed with cameos, references, and gags, and it’s likely there are quite a few that fans will have to watch frame-by-frame to really capture them.
Although we have the official date for About the Spider-Verse will arrive on Netflix, we have a pretty good estimate based on when previous Sony movies arrived on the platform:
When is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
About the Spider-Verse should go to Netflix before the end of the year. The most likely month for arrival is sometime around November – because Sony’s biggest movies make their way to Netflix about five months after their theatrical debut.
Will Across the Spider-Verse ever come to Disney Plus?
While it may seem surprising that a Marvel movie is headed to Netflix instead of Disney Plus, it’s important to remember that this is actually a Sony movie, not a Disney production. Since Sony does not have a streaming platform of its own, it partners with Netflix for exclusive first releases of its films. But that doesn’t mean they’ll stay there forever.
As for how long the movie will be on the service, or what streaming service it might go to after it leaves Netflix, we’ll just have to wait and see.
The good news is About the Spider-Verse will also be available on digital VOD platforms (such as YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Apple and Vudu) sometime before its release on Netflix. and if you buy it on one of those, you can watch it whether it’s streaming or not.
