When Loubna got married, she had no idea her husband would be charged with an unthinkable buck’s party act. Now details emerge about her grim situation

The new bride of a Buck’s Party gang rapist – who supported her husband when he was convicted of his heinous crime – has been forced to raise their new baby without him, away from their $2.5 million mansion.

Healthcare worker Loubna Yousif, 29, married her cousin, lawyer Maurice Hawell, 23, in April 2022 in a lavish wedding attended by friends and family.

The young bride had no idea at the time that he had been involved in the gang rape of three teenage girls in Newcastle, NSW, just weeks earlier.

The dark secret was revealed when her new husband was arrested just weeks after the ceremony – shortly followed by his best man, younger brother Marius and groomsman Andrew David.

Ms Yousif, who still wears her wedding ring, now shares a cramped granny flat with her parents and several other relatives in Sydney’s west.

It’s a far cry from what was promised at the start of married life – including her husband’s lawyer salary and their wedding packed with glitzy details like designer clothes and luxury cars.

The victims – two aged 18 and one aged 19 – told the court they were raped in a dark bedroom by men, including Maurice Hawell, Marius Hawell and Andrew David, after returning to an Airbnb rented for Maurice’s money party in February 2022.

A few weeks later, Marius and David stood by Hawell’s side as he tied the knot with Loubna, and later posed for photos with the happy couple.

Loubna wore a beautiful hand-embroidered ‘princess dress’ by Steven Khalil to the ceremony at their former five-bedroom home in Sydney’s south-west, which was attended by a convoy of luxury cars including a $500,000 McLaren 720S convertible .

Hawell was arrested and charged the following month, while Marius and David were arrested in June 2022.

After claiming the intercourse was consensual, Hawell spent thousands of dollars on his legal defense, forcing the newlyweds to sell their dream home in October 2022.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal the couple welcomed a baby earlier this year before Hawall was sentenced to 14 years in prison with a non-parole period of eight years and six months in November.

David was sentenced to 13 years in prison with a non-parole period of seven years and nine months and Marius was sentenced to nine years in prison with a non-parole period of five years and five months.

Loubna wrote a letter to the court explaining that she was “heartbroken” by her husband’s “infidelity” but said she simply did not believe he was capable of the “monstrous acts.”

She begged the court not to separate her husband from his family and consider its impact on their lives.

“The discovery of Maurice’s infidelity was very painful for me and went against the values at the heart of our relationship,” she wrote.

She added: ‘Despite the infidelity, I have chosen to forgive Maurice for this mistake, recognizing that it was a violation of our relationship but not a reflection of his entire character.’

“And while I was heartbroken to discover Maurice’s infidelity, I never, not for a moment believed that he would be capable of the monstrous acts described in those papers,” she wrote in her letter to the court.

Ms Yousif still drives a luxury Lexus and carries a Louis Vuitton handbag, but looked somber as she stepped out with family last week and pushed her stroller through the local shopping center.

When Daily Mail Australia asked Ms Yousif if she still stood by her husband despite the long prison sentence, she declined to comment.

Judge Gina O’Rourke of the NSW District Court handed down their sentences earlier this year, describing the Hawell brothers and David as “highly educated, intelligent, successful, professional young men who come from loving Christian homes, who treat their own sisters, mothers and female partners with respect and love.”

But she added: ‘And yet this weekend they were able to use a pack mentality to treat three young women in this cold, insensitive, demeaning and criminal manner.”
