Halo infinity season 3 is just around the corner and about to bring new life to the multiplayer shooter. Season 3, formally titled “Echoes Within,” not only adds new maps and modes, but also sees the first significant changes to the game’s sandbox (no, the mangler nerf does not count). Here’s what to expect, including when Halo infinity Season 3 will be released in your time zone.
What time does Halo Infinite Season 3 start?
Halo infinity Season 3 is about to start Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Developer 343 Industries has not yet specified the exact launch time, but historically Halo infinity updates roll out at 10:00 AM PST. Here’s when Halo infinity Season 3 should go live in your local time zone:
- 11 a.m. PST off the west coast of North America
- 2 p.m. EST off the east coast of North America
- 8 p.m. MET for Western Europe/Paris
- 19:00 GMT for the UK
- 4 hours JST to Tokyo on March 8
Echoes Within runs through June 27, but note that a invite calendar spotted on the Halo Discord pegs an end date of June 20. Anyway, Season 3 is much shorter than the first two seasons, which ran for six and ten months respectively.
What’s new in Halo Infinite Season 3?
In addition to a slew of welcome updates on quality of life, Halo infinity Season 3 is also the biggest content drop for the shooter yet, with new maps, modes, cosmetics and even a new weapon. Let’s break it down.
New Maps for Halo Infinite Season 3
Halo infinity season 3 adds some new cards to the rotation. Most are for the Arena playlists (which pit two teams of four against each other), but one is for Big Team Battle (two teams of 12). The following are confirmed additions:
- Gap is an Arena map clearly modeled after aspects of the Forerunner structure that comprise the second mission of Halo infinity‘s campaign. Watch the gap!
- Cliff hanger is a mid-sized Arena map – think closer to Launch Site than Live Fire in scale – with a bunch of man cannons. It was shown last month at the Grand Finals of the Charlotte Kickoff Major.
- Oasis is a Big Team Battle map directly inspired by Exileone of the best Big Team Battle maps of Halo 4the best Halo game.
Echoes in the will highlight a special playlist which will feature the two Arena maps during the first week, while the second week will feature a playlist featuring only Oasis.
Halo infinity concluded Season 2 with the Community Collection playlist, which highlights some of the most carefully crafted Arena maps from the Forge creation mode. Season 3 will see continued additions to that playlist. One such card, Art room – a scene set in a teenager’s room, giving the visual impression that Spartans have been Ant man‘d — was shown during the trailer for Halo infinity season 3, although 343 has not given a release date for it.
New modes for Halo Infinite Season 3
Sorry, folks, but Halo infinity season 3 doesn’t start with Infection out of the gate. Instead, we get two back-to-back events and a twist Halo‘s classic “shooting game”:
- The big addition is Escalation Killer, which changes your loadout with every kill, giving you better weapons and gear as you increase your score. (You can view the full loadout list here.) The catch is, if you get hit by a melee attack from behind, you go back a level. Escalation Slayer is playable in both team and free-for-all variants.
- The first event of season 3 is called “Mindfall”, which seems to continue the hitherto utterly barebones “story” of Unendingthe multiplayer mode. It runs from March 7 to March 20. A second, “Website unseen”, is scheduled for an undetermined date later in the season.
- Season 3’s second event is a Fracture – recurring playlists that run throughout the season. Fractures reward non-traditional Halo cosmetics (including samurai and WWII themed armor sets). This one is called “Firewall”, and it’s a safe bet that you’ll grab the Chimera armor core from this one. It runs from March 20 to March 27.

New gear for Halo Infinite Season 3
Halo infinity Season 3 adds two items to the sandbox, both ready to shake up the meta:
- The bandit gun is a single shot rifle. Although it looks and sounds like Halo 4‘s DMR, developers and pros who played the pre-release say functions are similar to the pistol hand arm of Halo 5: Guardians.
- The shroud screen is a device that… Look, it’s really just a smoke bomb.
New Cosmetics for Halo Infinite Season 3
Halo infinityMost of ‘s’s new cosmetics will be unlockable through Season 3’s 100-level battle pass (available as both a free and paid version), while others roll out on a rotational basis weekly in Unending‘s microtransaction store. Some of these cosmetics will apply to the standard armor cores you already own, but most will apply to the two new sets you get in Echoes Within: mirage And chimera.
