An 82-year-old wheelchair user was randomly stabbed from behind while eating at a Taco Bell in Los Angeles.
The unidentified knifeman entered the Taco Bell in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, looked around, took an object from his right jacket pocket, and stabbed the seated man in the neck and shoulder.
The LAPD responded to a call to the 12011 Venice Boulevard at around 7 p.m. Oct.
Police said the elderly man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and treated.
He is expected to recover from them.

The older man was sitting at a table with his wheelchair just next to him when the suspect enters and looks around, according to CCTV footage.
The suspect has a red skateboard clutched in his left hand, which he drops as he pulls in to attack the old man.
The old man, stabbed twice in the shoulder and neck, turns in his chair, startled, to see the man running to the door with the knife.
As the suspect runs to the door, he leaves the skateboard on the floor.

The suspect was described by police as a bald man between 5 and 5 meters tall, weighing about 130 pounds and probably between 20 and 30 years old.
He also has a large tattoo on the back of his head and a small tattoo next to his left eye, the LAPD said.
Overall crime in Los Angeles has risen in recent years.
Statistics from the LAPD indicated a total of 24,450 violent crimes had been committed as of Oct. 10, an increase of 3.9 percent from the same period last year’s total of 23,526.
Theft has increased by 14.9 percent since last year and aggravated assault by 0.9 percent.
The LAPD released surveillance footage of the attack to ask for help from the public in identifying the suspect.
