Wheel of Fortune Australia: Everything you need to know about Graham Norton’s surprising new career move at Channel 10

Graham Norton will hit Australian television screens in 2024.

On Tuesday, Channel 10 announced that the Irish talk show host will be the face of the upcoming reboot of Wheel of Fortune Australia.

The much-loved game show, which last aired Down Under in 2008, is now filmed in Britain but airs on Channel 10 in a prime time slot.

Norton is best known for hosting The Graham Norton Show, which also airs on Channel 10 in Australia.

The Aussie Wheel of Fortune revival began casting in September, with producers looking to recruit Australian expats in the UK for the limited series.

Meanwhile, Norton will also host the UK version of the game show, so it’s likely both will be filmed back-to-back.

In an advertisement obtained by Yahoo Lifestyle, the show is currently produced by Whisper North.

“We are looking for Australians living in the UK to take part in the classic game show Wheel of Fortune, presented by Graham Norton,” the advert said.

It also noted that filming will begin in early December, with registrations closing on November 2.

“I am beyond excited to bring such an iconic American show to Australia with Network 10,” Norton said.

“Hosting game shows is a lot of fun, even more so when you have a Ferris wheel to spin!”

He added: ‘This show has it all: a mix of skill, luck and lots of surprises, and I hope Australian audiences love it.’

Wheel of Fortune last hit Australian screens in 2008 as Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune, with Tim Campbell as host.

It earned low ratings for Channel Nine and was canceled after a month.

Previous Wheel of Fortune presenters throughout the year have included John Burgess, Rob Elliott and Larry Emdur.

The game show is also known for launching the career of co-host Adriana Xenides, who tragically passed away in 2010.

Meanwhile, a number of game shows are set to return to Australian screens soon.

Channel 10 also confirmed during their Upfronts on Tuesday that they are reviving Deal or No Deal, with Grant Denyer as host.
