The cunning WhatsApp trick that lets you read messages in full WITHOUT opening the app

It’s late, your phone rattles against the bedside table, a familiar glow ripples through the darkness. Someone wants your attention.

Whether it’s your boss bugging you with another reminder, an ex who’s “just checking in,” or even more annoying chatter from that group chat you wanted to leave. This is not the time.

Despite the desire to roll over and ignore the message, the seed has been planted. You need to know what’s in the message. But the last thing you want to do is let the sender know you’ve read it.

But there is a smart solution.

STEP ONE: Press and hold the home page on your phone.

STEP TWO: Tap on ‘Widgets’ and the main screen will show all the specific widgets available. Look for the WhatsApp widget and drag it to the main screen.

The only downside is that this feature is only for Android users.

But iPhone owners can, of course, turn off read receipts in WhatsApp itself, to prevent anyone from seeing those two little blue check marks.

But this also means that you cannot see when others have read your messages.

STEP THREE: Click Done when the widget has been successfully moved to the home page.

STEP FOUR: You can also make it full screen, which makes it easier to read.

How do I read long messages without notifying others?

So first you need to press and hold the home page on your phone.

Next, you have to tap on ‘Widgets’ and the main screen will show all available specific widgets.

At this point, you need to search for the WhatsApp widget and drag it to the main screen.

Then click done when the widget has been successfully moved to the home page. You can also make it full screen, which makes the message easier to read.

After this is done, scroll down to read all your messages (the most recent is at the top).

And remember. – don’t click on the message itself, otherwise this handy trick is for nothing!
