WhatsApp announced the new Chat Filters feature in a blog post this week.

“Opening WhatsApp and finding the right conversation should feel fast, seamless and easy,” it explained.

‘Now that people are doing more and more on WhatsApp, it is more important than ever to be able to quickly access your messages.

“That’s why today we’re launching new Chat Filters so you can do that without having to scroll through your entire inbox.”

Users can choose from three filters, which appear at the top of the chat list: All, Unread, and Groups.

As you may have guessed, selecting All lets you search through all messages, while Unread limits the search to messages you have yet to open.

Meanwhile, Groups limits the search to your group chats.

“We believe filters will make it easier for people to stay organized and find their most important conversations and navigate messages more efficiently,” WhatsApp added.

“We’ll continue to develop more options so you can focus on what matters most.”

Chat filters are now rolling out to users and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
