The 85.95 meter superyacht Ecstasea was involved in an accident in the Simpson Bay lagoon. Entering the bay on December 15, 2019, a combination of unfavorable winds and current conditions is believed to have caused the superyacht to veer to starboard and collide with the control room on the Simpson Bay Bridge. The bridge keeper is no doubt thanking his good fortune for being outside the control room when the yacht came through. While filming the shocking incident, maker @coolmariners123 noted that a combination of ‘unfavorable wind and current’ caused the yacht to drift off course.

Their clip shows the yacht demolishing the bridge’s control room as it scrapes past.

People sitting on an adjacent terrace can hear screams of disbelief as they watch the event, which took place in December 2019, unfold.

San Diego CEO Joel Praneet Siam stole an 60-foot yacht in Newport Harbor and took it for a devastating joyride, crashing into dozens of boats and injuring a woman.

Video footage from the event shows Siam crashing into the boats at high speed before backing up, almost destroying the entire dock.

Witness Kai McCartney said the driver then went to another part of the harbor and started eating donuts before crashing again.

After the second collision, Siam lost control of the ship and drove into a wall, abruptly stopping his joyriding journey at the Lido Island Bridge.

Footage shows the superyacht GO – with a helipad, gym, steam room, swimming pool and private hospital on board – plowing against a wooden jetty and concrete harbor wall in Simpson Bay, St. Maarten.

In one video, you can hear a viewer saying “oh my god” over and over. In another clip, a witness said, “It’s hitting concrete now. What is happening?’

It crashed twice in the dock after a computer glitch.

The second impact caused the most damage and left planks of wood left over what was left of the structure.

As the ship floats under the concrete structure, the radar and upper deck make contact.

One viewer quipped ‘they need a bridge loan after that’, while other commenters said the captain should have waited for the tide to ebb before attempting to pass under the bridge.
