Thanksgiving is here, and while many American families have spent days preparing for their big turkey feast, chances are many still have to make a last-minute run to the grocery store.
Some families choose to stay out of the kitchen and eat out for a Thanksgiving meal at a restaurant.
But with several stores and restaurants closed during the holidays, options for people may be limited.
Here’s what you need to know about which major retailers and fast food chains you can visit and which ones are keeping their doors closed.
Walmart
Retailer Walmart won’t be open this Thanksgiving, but will operate normally tomorrow, welcoming customers looking to score the best Black Friday deals starting at 6 a.m.
In a press release the company says: ‘[The] The company will close nearly all of its stores and pharmacies for the second year in a row to give team members time with their loved ones.
However, 24-hour locations will remain open to ‘meet the healthcare needs of customers and patients’.
Walmart will be closed this Thanksgiving, the company announced in a news release
Goal
For the fifth year in a row, Target will remain closed on Thanksgiving, but like Walmart, it will open its doors early tomorrow morning ahead of the Black Friday sale.
Sam’s Club
Sam’s Club will follow suit, but stay ahead of the competition by opening online Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving before returning to normal operations tomorrow.
Trader Joe’s
The supermarket is closed on Thanksgiving Day, but reopens the next day for Black Friday.
On the busiest shopping day of the year, opening hours will vary per store.

Wal vegetables
Walgreens stores will be closed on Thanksgiving this year, but will reopen Friday.

Whole foods
According to its website, the supermarket says its stores will remain open on Thanksgiving, but with adjusted hours.
This also includes Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. However, it will be closed on Christmas Day.
Dollar tree
You can visit Dollar Tree this Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
However, stores in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island remain closed in accordance with state law.
CFS
CVS will be open on Thanksgiving, although some stores will have adjusted hours.
You can check what time your local drugstore is open on their official website.
As for Black Friday, CVS will be open as usual.
Starbucks
Starbucks is open on Thanksgiving Day, but coffee shop opening and closing times vary depending on location
Good news for coffee lovers. Starbucks will be open on Thanksgiving Day. But while the usual opening hours are 6am to 9pm, coffee shop opening and closing times vary depending on location.
The same goes for Black Friday, but either way, Americans will be caffeine-free this turkey season.
Dunkin’ Donuts
The coffee and donut chain will also remain open on Thanksgiving Day, but opening hours will remain limited.
McDonald’s
McDonald has said it will remain open through Thanksgiving
Those who don’t cook this holiday will be grateful knowing that most McDonald’s locations will remain open on Thanksgiving.
While hours may vary by location, you can still enjoy a festive Big Mac or a Holiday Pie.
Northstream
Nordstrom stores are closed today, but will open earlier than normal tomorrow on Black Friday AND stay open late.
Burger King
The fast-food chain said some of its restaurants will remain open today, but hours will vary by franchise location.

Popeyes
Many Popeyes restaurants also remain open, but visitors are encouraged to check hours as they may vary by location.
7-Eleven
The majority of 7-Eleven locations remain open 24/7, with some locations operating adjusted hours. Local hours can be looked up online.
Jimmy Johns
Although many Jimmy John’s are open on Thanksgiving, guests are encouraged to check local hours before visiting.
Wendy’s
The beloved fast-food burger chain will operate largely as normal, but visitors are encouraged to look up their operating hours before attending.
Wegmans
On Thanksgiving, stores will be open until 4 p.m., with the exception of the following locations in Massachusetts: Northborough, Chestnut Hill, Burlington, Westwood and Medford, which will close at noon today.
Shaw’s
Stores in the Vermont and New Hampshire locations will open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., but pharmacies will be closed.
Meanwhile, all Shaw’s locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
