What we know about Avatar 3, 4, and 5

Avatar: the way of the water has finally arrived, 13 years after its predecessor. But with the movie poised to be a huge hit, and avatar3, 4And 5 plans announced ten years ago, it’s hard not to immediately look ahead to the future for the world of Pandora and the greater Avatar universe.

Director James Cameron has been on an extensive press tour avatar2 and much of the talk was about the theoretical three Avatar sequels that are apparently on the way. This kind of proactive approach also shows in the way Cameron filmed the movies; large parts of the next three films have already been filmed with actors Sam Worthington, Stephen Lange, Zoe Saldaña and the new child actors.

But with all those exciting behind-the-scenes details that have been revealed, it still doesn’t give us the full picture of what we know about the next three Avatar movies. When is Avatar 3 coming out?

avatar3 is now slated for a December 29, 2025 release. Originally, the set-up was to release an Avatar movie every two years, designed to give the franchise breathing room (though not 13 years this time), while giving Disney room to add new Star Wars movies to be released.
