What can you expect from Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

As described in Polygon’s Shadow of the Erdtree preview and first impressions, the DLC is fundamentally “more Elden Ring.” For the most part, that means: vast dungeons, brutal enemies, and a huge sense of discovery.

For starters, according to our preview, the expansion is significantly more difficult than the base game. There are new types of collectibles in the mix (including power-ups called Scadutree Fragments). Narrative, Shadow of the Erdtree focuses on Miquella, who you may know as the brother of Malenia, one of the base game’s most infamous boss fights.

We’re only just getting ready, but if you’re still preparing for the expansion, check out our guides on how to get access Shadow of the Erdtree and how to prepare for the DLC. You’ll have to defeat at least Radahn and Mohg – about two-thirds of the players not finished. Good luck!
