What the Golf?, ‘the silly physics-based golf parody’, comes to PlayStation

Physics-based golf game What the wave? will soon be available for PlayStation 5, so even more players can be confused and frustrated by the absurdity of golfing in strange locations.

What the wave? launches on March 14, 2024 for PS5 and PS4 and can be wishlisted now on the PlayStation Store. While the price hasn’t been confirmed yet, it shouldn’t be too outlandish as it’s currently priced at $19.99 / £15.49 / AUS$28.95 on Steam.

“The PS5 version features fully optimized DualSense support in case you’ve been wondering what it feels like to play golf with a house, a car or a planet,” developer Triband said in a press release. “It also brings with it over 300 levels, including numerous previously released updates such as the Among us inspired by golf! More updates are coming too!”

What the wave? sees players attempting to traverse increasingly strange locations with highly creative twists on the game of golf. But while “golf” is in the title, that’s pretty much where the similarity to golf ends,” he said official Steam page.

Instead of, What the wave? is more of a comedy puzzle game. “Okay, so there’s a little bit of what you might recognize as wave, but a lot more of what definitely isn’t! Confused? Excellent,” the Steam page continues. There are also opportunities to build your own unforgiving golf course, which you can then share with the world thanks to the level editor.

However, if you don’t want to wait for the PlayStation launch and have access to other platforms, you can already play What the wave? on PC, Nintendo Switch and iOS via Apple Arcade (the original platform).
