What Simone Biles showed ‘pommel horse guy’ Stephen Nedoroscik at Paris Olympics: ‘Surreal’

Simone Biles has let ‘horse jumper’ Stephen Nedoroscik know that he is the latest social media icon, after a meme of the American gymnast went viral after he won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics.

In an interview with Teen Vogue Nedoroscik, 25, was released on Wednesday and revealed that Biles had gone to him to show him the meme she had come across.

“It’s so surreal because I don’t think she even remembered my name a month ago,” Nedoroscik said of his interaction with Biles, whom he called an “icon” and “the best.”

Nedoroscik became an overnight online sensation after helping the US gymnastics team finish third in the team finals.

Thanks to his efforts, the Americans won their first medal in this event since the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Nedoroscick became a viral meme overnight when he was spotted taking off his glasses and closing his eyes prior to his performance on the horse last Saturday.

He won his second bronze in that event.

Nedoroscick, who posed with celebrity chef Guy Fieri after his adventures in Paris, was given a hero’s welcome by fans on Tuesday when he returned to the U.S., landing at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Florida, where he lives and trains.

“It’s unbelievable,” Nedoroscik said Fox 13.

‘Just the amount of outreach I’ve gotten, the amount of people reaching out to me and saying, you know, ‘We want to watch men’s gymnastics. You’re helping grow the fan base.’ [for] ”gymnastics for men.”

‘And honestly, that’s what I want to hear most: that this sport is growing in our country.

“It’s not exactly the most popular. And I’m glad I can help with that.”
