“What roles?” Glastonbury visitor wins hearts with hair prep in comedic interview
“What roles?” Glastonbury goer abandons BBC Breakfast viewers after hilariously confused early morning interview at Worthy Farm
A reveler gearing up for Glastonbury has been dubbed an unlikely early comedic ‘hero’ of the festival after a crossover interview at Worthy Farm went viral.
The music fan with a strong Liverpudlian accent was asked by BBC journalist Colin Paterson about the big rollers she wore in her hair – but after enduring a suitcase nightmare on the way to the festival site, she was only thinking about one kind of rollers.. .the wheels of her nasty suitcase.
During the morning interview yesterday, Paterson asked her, “What about the rollers?” after approaching those arriving at the farm in Somerset for the first official day of this year’s festival.
After laughing and looking at her suitcase, she opened up about how she’d had a ‘nightmare’ while negotiating the Somerset site, saying ‘it just all broke and we literally had to drag it all the way’.
The persistent reporter asked again, “What about the rollers?” to which she responded with a deadpan “What rollers?”… before the penny dropped that he was talking about her hair prep.
The Glastonbury fan dissolved into smiles and explained that she thought the reporter had mentioned the wheels on her suitcase, before kindly clarifying, “I got a curly slap this morning.”
The hilarious encounter left viewers wanting more, saying they were “obsessed” with the Glastonbury fan and her cameo on breakfast television.
RuPaul’s Drag Race winner The Vivienne called the TV moment “camp!”
“What roles?” A festival-goer from Liverpool won fans on social media for her morning interview with BBC Breakfast, after being asked about her hair prep for the music event
One of them replied, ‘K, I’m having a bad day and you are my hero. Thank you, Roller Person.’
Another said, “I love her so much I will do anything for her.”
There was a similar reaction to the meeting on Twitter.
Another, who claimed they went to 6th grade with her, said, “She’s an absolute icon, she’s so beautiful.”
One wrote, “I AM OBSESSED, WHO IS SHE?”
When asked about the rollers, the Glastonbury visitor recounted what a ‘nightmare’ she’d had with her luggage… much to the delight of viewers
Nightmare morning: She told BBC Breakfast that her luggage had not reacted well on Somerset’s grounds
Britain’s biggest music festival kicked off in earnest yesterday, with some 200,000 people heading to Worthy Farm in Somerset.
Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis has confirmed that the Arctic Monkeys will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday after their set was called into question earlier this week.
The rock band announced on Monday that frontman Alex Turner had acute laryngitis which forced them to cancel their show in Dublin’s Marlay Park on Wednesday.
Glastonbury kicked off on Thursday, with this year’s headliners including the Arctic Monkeys and Elton John
Broadcasting from the festival grounds at Worthy Farm, Zoe Ball asked on her BBC Radio 2 show if the band would still be playing, to which Emily replied ‘they are busy’, which was met with applause.
“It was close there for a minute and we were thinking about whether we should have a serious backup plan but no, luckily they’re on it so that’s great,” she added.
It comes after she revealed there were “backup plans” in case the group were forced to pull out of their headline slot.
