A blog post from Meghan Markle’s now-defunct website The Tig reveals her feelings on royal princesses before she met Prince Harry, and they’re not entirely flattering.

The former Suits star revealed how she dreamed of being a ‘royal rebel’ instead of ‘a Cinderella’ as she reflected on the ‘pomp and circumstance’ of ‘Princess Kate’s’ wedding.

The 2014 entry, written by Meghan during her time on Suits, talked about her childhood dream of becoming ‘She-Ra, Princess of Power’.

Describing her icon, she wrote: “We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,” later bringing up the “endless talk” about Prince William’s extravagant wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011.

She wrote: ‘Girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.

A blog post from Meghan Markle’s now-defunct website The Tig took a scathing look at the ‘endless talk’ surrounding Prince William’s extravagant wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011.

“For those of you unfamiliar with the 1980s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and an actual sword-wielding rebel known for her strength.

‘We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here.

Adult women seem to retain this childlike fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and the endless talk about Princess Kate.

Meghan’s blog, launched in 2014, is named after her favorite Tignanello wine.

Recalling her first sip, she wrote: ‘It was an ah-ha moment at its finest. For me it became a ‘Tig’ moment, a get it moment.’

Meghan’s longtime friend, Suits director-producer Silver Tree, explained on the Harry and Meghan Netflix docuseries: “When she first described [the blog] to me, she was like, “It’s like your best friend told you all the fun things you’d like to know in one place.”

Meghan, pictured in New York in December 2022, seemed taken aback by the grown women entertaining a 'childish fantasy' of a fairy tale princess.

She used the website to share her views on everything from feminism to her passion for philanthropy.

An avid foodie, she also shared recipes, as well as makeup and beauty tips, travel advice, and interviews with her celebrity friends, including tennis star Serena Williams and actress Priyanka Chopra.

She shut down the site in 2017 before announcing her engagement to Harry, describing it as a “passion project” that “evolved into an incredible community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity.”

It then followed that Meghan would take part in her own version of a fairytale ‘royal wedding’, marrying Prince Harry in May 2018 and becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

It came with its own pomp and circumstance when Meghan was joined by Charles, now King, during a service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

The occasion was also mired in so-called drama when Prince Harry revealed his side of the controversy surrounding his niece Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

In his explosive memoir, Spare, Harry said Kate texted Meghan days before the wedding to tell her there was a problem with the bridesmaid dresses, specifically Charlotte’s.

He claims that Meghan tried to send Kate to the Palace tailor to have it fixed.

According to Harry, Meghan found an hour to chat with Kate, who said that Charlotte’s dress was too big for her and that she had cried when she tried it on.

The duke also wrote that it wasn’t the only problem Kate was having with planning the wedding, and mentioned a problem with the straw boys, but didn’t go into further detail.

After the argument, Harry said he returned home to find Meghan sobbing on the kitchen floor, overcome with stress and worry.

He added that Kate came to the house the next day with an apology card and flowers.
