What Larry Emdur’s alleged stalker told security after being arrested at Channel 7 building – as he is slapped with a restraining order

A Victorian man who entered the Channel 7 building and said “I’m here to shake Larry Emdur’s hand” must stay at least 2km away from the Gold Logie-winning star under a restraining order, a court has been told.

Police have issued a warrant for violence [AVO] to protect the 59-year-old co-host of The Morning Show from Victoria’s Rodney Pearce after an incident at the network’s Sydney building on August 22.

On Monday, the court was told that Pearce entered the building by following security through a gate and then following an employee inside via a lift.

He was escorted out of the building by security and when approached he said, “I’m here to shake Larry Emdur’s hand.”

Pearce was arrested and taken to hospital for a check-up. He was subsequently charged by police and an AVO was drawn up on behalf of Emdur.

On Monday morning in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, Magistrate Greg Grogin finalised the AVO in Pearce’s absence. Neither Pearce nor his lawyer were present in court.

Mr Grogin told the court that the police’s request showed there was good reason why the AVO should be granted.

Under the terms of the order, Pearce is not to approach or contact Emdur.

He is prohibited from coming within 2km of any place where Emdur lives or works, specifically the Channel 7 building. Pearce was also charged with trespassing and possession of a prohibited drug.

Earlier this month he was fined $550 in Downing Centre Local Court after the case was dealt with in his absence. No plea was entered.

Emdur won the Golden Logie on August 18.

Earlier this month, he took to Instagram to criticize tabloids for publishing sensational headlines about the “stalking” issue.

He assured his fans that he was “fine” and still “in the aftermath of Logies”, before adding that headlines claiming he and his family were “in danger” were “simply untrue”.

“I just wanted to sort something out quickly. There’s a lot of noise in the magazines about this,” Emdur said in the clip.

The Chase presenter then held up a magazine to show the column written about his alleged stalker, reporting that New South Wales police had deployed an AVO to protect Emdur.

“”Stalker alerted. Leave Larry alone!”” Emdur read. “This whole thing. It’s a really big deal. ” Larry Emdur, living in fear. “I just wanted to let you know I’m fine!

‘I feel more than fine. I’m still in a Logies afterglow and loving it! The Morning Show is going great, The Chase is going great, my whiskey is going great.

“Everything in my life is absolutely fantastic. So when you read something like, ‘Larry Emdur lives in fear! His family is in danger,’ that’s not true.”

He added: ‘It’s not what’s happening in my life… Anyway, thanks for your concern. I’m feeling absolutely 100 percent fine. It’s absolutely business as usual.’
