What Jurgen Klopp will do after he leaves Liverpool… as the Reds boss reveals two activities his wife Ulla has told him he must learn

Jurgen Klopp has revealed details of his original plans when he steps down as Liverpool manager at the end of the season.

The 56-year-old made the shock announcement in January that he would be leaving the Reds this summer, ending a successful nine-year spell at Anfield.

Klopp claimed he made the decision because he ‘ran out of energy’ and insisted he would take a break from the match.

Liverpool saw their hopes of glory in the Premier League and Europa League damaged this week with defeats to Crystal Palace and Atalanta, but Klopp is still hopeful of more silverware before he leaves the club.

Klopp has given insight into his plans when he leaves Liverpool, with his wife Ulla Sandrock telling him to pursue two activities to fill his time.

“There are a few things Ulla told me: I need to cook and learn a dance lesson,” Klopp said Sky News.

“I said you don’t want me to have a break because if I do, I’ll go back to work after four weeks.

“I should probably learn to cook so I can at least make breakfast or something.”

“This will be the first time in my life that I have no idea what I’m going to do and that’s exactly what I want.”

Klopp was asked about his culinary skills, with the German admitting he is limited in the kitchen.

‘Hot water, tea, does that count? During Covid I made scrambled eggs, but then I forgot,” he said.

‘I grew up in the Black Forest with two sisters, the only reason I knew where the kitchen was was because the smell came from there! In private, I’m pretty useless.’

Despite taking a break from football, Klopp is expected to be in the crowd at Euro 2024, with the outgoing Liverpool boss reportedly holding tickets for Germany’s first three games of the tournament.

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has previously claimed that Klopp is planning to move to Mallorca, where the couple are having a £3.4million mansion built.

“I’m not sure if I should tell you this, but it’s not a big secret. He is having a house built in Mallorca,” Lawrenson told Off the Ball in February.

‘I have a house somewhere not far from where he builds his. Ulla, his wife, is in charge of everything in that regard, and so is he [Klopp] said, “The damn thing isn’t even done yet, and I pay all the bills!”

“So he’s probably going to retreat there for a while, I would suggest.”

Klopp bought the Mallorca home for £3.4 million (€4 million) from Swiss businessman and artist Rolf Knie in June 2022 and has decided to completely rebuild the 5,000 square meter property.

The Liverpool boss has previously credited Ulla with helping him make key decisions during his career.

Ulla is credited with convincing the outgoing Liverpool boss to reject Manchester United’s advances in 2013, leading to him taking charge at Anfield two years later.

Klopp also cited her advice as the basis for his decision to extend his contract with Liverpool two years ago. She had previously expressed concerns about the toll her husband took during his final season at Borussia Dortmund.

The Reds boss will look for his side to respond to a damaging week in their season after a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace saw them drop to third in the Premier League, two points behind defending champions Man City.

Liverpool will face the task of overturning a 3-0 deficit against Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-final for the first time on Thursday.

Klopp has won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup twice in nine hugely successful years at Anfield.
