Tim Lovejoy, Helen Chamberlain and the old Soccer AM crew discussed some of their football pet peeves in the latest episode of Mail Sport’s new Soccer AZ podcast.
Tubes joined Lovejoy and Chamberlain for the first episode of Soccer AZ, which featured some hilarious stories from the group’s time working on the popular Sky Sports show, which was axed at the end of last season.
In this week’s second episode, the former Soccer AM stars debated what they would give a red card for in football, prompting Lovejoy to take issue with one particular football theme tune.
“My first question about what’s wrong with football is Celeste – this is it,” Lovejoy said, referring to the artist’s hit Stop This Flame, which has been used in Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage in recent seasons.

‘I interviewed her, a beautiful woman, at Sunday brunch,’ he added. ‘She sings that song, a great song – was – but it’s repeated every season. You can’t keep doing it around football. I love TV football, but they have to change it up a bit. It used to be every year, right? Since 2020 it’s repeated, don’t you think they should change it?’
