Steve Clarke’s men come into the match on the back of a 3-0 win over Cyprus in their Euro 2024 qualifier.

Scott McTominay, Ryan Porteous and John McGinn all scored as the side remained unbeaten in qualifying and currently sit nine points clear at the top of Group A.

The Three Lions’ 100% winning record came to an end in their final qualifying match with a 1-1 draw against Ukraine last weekend. Gareth Southgate’s men sit top of Group C, six points ahead of Saturday’s opponents.

What is the England v Scotland pre-match shirt?

Scotland host their rivals in a special friendly to mark the anniversary of the first ever international football match.

England announced on Monday that the squad will wear a ‘unique pre-match top’ ahead of the 150th Anniversary Heritage Match against their rivals.

The Three Lions make a nod to their own heritage by wearing a shirt with the original crest from the first meeting between Scotland and England in 1872.

The limited edition shirts, designed by Nike, will then be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the FA’s official charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society.

Harry Kane was seen wearing the shirt during a visit to Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow, where the match took place on November 30, 1872.

The Scotland players will also wear their own special shirt ahead of the match, celebrating their own heritage.

What has been said?

Ahead of the match, Southgate revealed it would be ‘ridiculous’ to over-experiment with his Glasgow team.

The Three Lions will be looking for them

‘For us it is more important that we both learn and play well. That’s what we can get out of the game,” he said.

“We have to be strong because they are a good team and we are going into an environment where you have to have the personality to play. But we would also like to find out some things.

‘We are playing against a very high-level opponent in a very intimidating atmosphere. They’re the kind of evenings that have been an important part of our progress for six or seven years.

“Some guys have been through that and some haven’t, it will be great to find out more about them.

“But it is also a challenge that we have to face, we have to face these challenges and enjoy them because we have huge ambitions as a team and we still have a lot of work to do.

“What we have is a great spirit. We always have to remind ourselves that it’s all about the team and we have to show that.”
