Now the final, scheduled for Saturday, June 29, is threatened by a hurricane that could form as early as Saturday evening and ruin the reserve day for the final, namely Sunday, June 30.
Tropical Storm Beryl grows into a hurricane
A storm is raging in the Caribbean north of Venezuela and southeast of Puerto Rico, but the system became a tropical storm late Friday when sustained winds reached 39 mph (62 kph), according to a New York Times report.

At 74 mph. a storm becomes a hurricane, and at 4:00 am local time in the Windward Islands the speed of the Beryl storm had increased to 50 miles per hour. If the storm continues to grow, approximately 100-150mm of rain is expected in Barbados between Saturday and Sunday nights.
Therefore, if the final match between South Africa and India of the 2024 T20 World Cup is not completed by Saturday evening, it could be completely wiped out.
