Danny Wallis spends a lot of money on The Block every year.
But the Melbourne-based IT entrepreneur is a philanthropist who gives away many of the homes he buys to childhood cancer charities.
Wallis has donated multiple homes to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity and Ronald McDonald House for use by terminally ill children and their families.

This year he also wants to keep one of the houses for himself.
“This year I’ll keep one for myself to grow vegetables and grow fruit trees in the backyard, and a little vacation…and a house will be a resort for kids,” Danny told me. 3AW on Monday.
“I like House 5 the best, but it’s probably the best for kids. It has the basketball court and tennis court.”

This season, he bought Oz and Omar’s House 5 for $5.66 million, as well as Tom and Sarah-Jane’s house for over $4.1 million.
He also bought Rachel and Ryan’s for over $4.2 million, bringing his total for the three homes to about $14 million.
Last season, he bought Mitch and Mark’s Block-winning home for $3.93 million and it was also donated to the My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.

“I like House 5 the most, but it’s probably the best for kids, it has a basketball court and a tennis court,” he said.
He also bought Tanya and Vito’s home, and Kirsty and Jesse’s, come together at $12.2 million.
Danny also loaned Tanya and Vito’s house, for which he paid $3.8 million, to Ronald McDonald House before it was resold.
He did the same for one of the properties he bought in the 2016 season.

During the 2020 series, Danny also spent a lot, buying three apartments for just under $12 million.
That year, Daniel and Jade’s property — for which he paid $3.8 million — went to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.
