A doctor’s ‘perfect’ family dinner: Aussie GP shares the mouthwatering recipe she swears by
An Australian doctor and mother has shared the delicious meal she prepares for her family in less than 30 minutes after a long shift.
Dr. Preeya Alexander, from Victoria, said her tuna sushi bake is the perfect dish – and it’s easy to prepare when you’re in a hurry.
“Canned tuna is the best: it’s convenient, it’s always in the pantry and it’s cost-effective,” she said in a video.
“I’m preparing this mid-week while on the run with hangry kids and I don’t have much time.”
The ingredients needed for the dish are sushi rice, mirin, sesame oil, canned tuna, celery, red onion, Kewpie mayonnaise, nori sheets, avocados, furikake seasoning, cucumbers and baby corn.
To make the dish, you first need to preheat your oven to 180C.
Cook your sushi rice and then add the mirin and sesame oil.
While your rice is cooking, place the tuna, celery, onion and mayonnaise in a bowl and mash it together with a fork.

Grab a baking dish and spoon your rice onto it before placing your tuna mix on it.
Place in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until you are happy with the temperature.
To serve, simply spoon some of the batter into a nori sheet and combine with some chopped cucumber.
“The great thing about this dish is that you can put anything in it: peas, carrots, cucumber,” said Dr. Alexander.
‘Every rainbow counts for the body.’
The phrase “eating a rainbow” refers to combining fruits and vegetables of different colors in a meal to maximize nutrient intake.
“You can also sprinkle more things on top, like toasted black sesame seeds,” she said.
Many thanked Dr. Alexander for her excellent recipe.
“This is such a great idea, my three year old will love it,” said one mother.
“My kids tear this down every time I make it,” another added.
