What Disney guests REALLY thought of the Star Wars hotel closing

Many Disney and Star Wars fans are devastated after news broke that the immersive Star Wars hotel would close its doors later this year.

But it won’t come as a surprise to others if they’ve been claiming all along that a visit to the hotel just wasn’t worth the hefty price tag.

The hotel, which opened to much fanfare and sold-out “trips” in the Orlando area in March 2022, charges guests anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 for a two-night immersive experience.

In a review, park enthusiasts Taylor Jaxson and Sarah Pineda, who go by the name @themeparkbesties, said that while they enjoyed it, their trip was not worth the money.

In an Instagram post at the time of their stay, the two claimed that the beds were hard, that they were only given “a single sleeping bag-type blanket,” and that the walls and door were so thin they could see everything around them. could hear.

The duo praised the food, staff and drinks, but criticized the price of the whole experience, saying it was not worth the price tag.

However, many superfans were blown away by their experiences.

An overwhelmed visitor, known only as Megan, shared footage of herself in tears after arriving at the Starcruiser hotel.

In a TikTok recap of her experience, she says, “I took two steps on board and immediately started crying.

“It was all so real, I loved the theme [in the cabin]. I went crazy.’

Megan also describes the activities as part of the experience and enjoys herself in the video.

She continues, “This is a literal dream come true, I never thought I would see something like this in person.

“I’ve had the best day of my life and can’t wait to get back.”

The immersive property, which is based in Orlando — and has no windows — will conduct its final “tours” in September, four years after it was announced at D23 Expo in 2019 as part of the $1 billion Star Wars land of the United States. park.

The news of the closure comes just months after DailyMail.com reported that Disney was struggling to fill bookings and had reduced availability for the fall.

The hotel, which is located near Disney World in Orlando, Florida, caused a stir when it first opened for its price and amenities.

Included in the 2-day experience is a cabin or suite, ongoing immersive entertainment, in- and out-of-space food and drink, and admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
