Walk Free, a report by the International Rights Group, suggests the number has risen by 10 million within five years.
The reasons are complex, but extreme weather events, migration and armed conflict expose entire communities to exploitation.
Low-income countries are at the center of this. But findings show that consumerism and demands from rich countries are contributing to the problem.
