Wests Tigers star Daine Laurie has come under fire from club fans for liking an Instagram video of Brisbane scoring a try in her team’s shock defeat at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
The Broncos put on a master class against the ill-fated Tigers, crushing them 46-12 to give the Queensland side their best start to a season since 1998.
One of the biggest moments of the match came when Brisbane’s Selwyn Cobbo punished a careless pass from John Bateman by running 88 meters to score a try.
Tigers fans were heartbroken by the interception, which pushed the Broncos to a 22-0 lead, so they were understandably furious when they noticed that one of their stars had liked the attempt on the official Instagram account of the NRL.

The skilled fullback has also been linked with a move to the Eels, who are currently looking to add spark to their back line with an ‘X-factor’ player.
Laurie angered many fans and caused a media storm in 2021 when he was photographed celebrating Penrith’s big final win in Panthers gear despite being with the Tigers.
Laurie, a local junior from Penrith, admitted that he ‘had a few drinks’ watching the game, but was simply celebrating the victory of his old team, where he still has plenty of teammates.
“I was happy Penrith won, I grew up and went to school with almost every player on the team,” he said at the time.
