Westpac and St George have suffered major disruptions for the second day in a row, with customers furious at being unable to access online banking.
More than 2,000 complaints were made about Westpac’s outage on Downdetector just before 2pm on Tuesday.
Many have complained that this means they no longer have access to online banking and the app.
Some business owners have said the technical problem left them unable to pay staff.
‘Westpac, why can’t I load anything into the app? I can’t even see when my credit card payments are due but just keeps charging,” a Westpac customer wrote to X.
‘It’s back down now! That’s two days in a row!’ another wrote.
‘Westpac has done it again! Never disappoints its customers with frequent breakdowns. Keep the fun going!” said one.

Customers from St George reported similar issues on Tuesday, with just over 200 complaints reported to Downdetector.
‘We are aware that customers are experiencing difficulties accessing online and mobile banking. Our teams are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and will continue to share updates here,” the bank said.
