Westpac app, online banking goes down for Australians, St George also down

Hundreds of Australians are being affected by an outage to the Westpac app and online banking services.

The outage was first reported at around 10.50am on Tuesday morning and comes just weeks after Westpac services were disrupted on December 4.

Some customers said their accounts “suddenly disappeared” when they logged into online banking.

Others reported that the app showed a “service interruption” message.

Customers unleashed at the bank on social media.

'Great job around Christmas time, no internet banking and yet you make billions in profit, screw the customer and close branches.'

Another said: 'Get your shit together! Fourth time in four months your app doesn't give me access to my own money! Taking my money elsewhere. Across!.

The disruptions come as Westpac and other major banks have closed branches and reduced their number of ATMs.
