Westmead Hospital Sydney: Security guards stabbed and nurse injured as man allegedly went on violent rampage

A man is under police guard after he allegedly went on a rampage at a Western Sydney hospital, injuring four staff members.

Police were called to Westmead Hospital at around 11.30pm on Friday evening after reports that a man, 39, had assaulted staff.

When officers arrived, they found two guards, aged 24 and 25, with stab wounds, a third guard with a dislocated shoulder and a nurse, 29, who suffered minor injuries.

The man who allegedly attacked three security guards and a nurse at Westmead Hospital is under police guard

All four are believed to be recovering.

The alleged knifeman is said to have been a patient at the hospital.

He remains under police guard at Westmead.
